YANGON, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar earned over 14.31 billion U.S. dollars from its exports in more than 11 months of the 2023-24 fiscal year, according to the release by the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.
From April 1 last year to March 22 this year, the government sector contributed over 3.9 billion dollars, while the private sector contributed over 10 billion dollars.
According to the ministry's figures, the export income declined compared to over 16 billion dollars recorded during the same period last year.
Myanmar does most of its foreign trade through sea routes as it has a long coastline. Its major trade partners include China, Thailand, Bangladesh and India.
The country mainly exports agricultural and animal products, fisheries, minerals and forest products, manufactured goods and others, while imports capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods. Enditem
