MADRID, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Almeria midfielder Jonathan Viera says the best decision he made in his life was to join Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan in 2018.

The 34-year-old, who joined Almeria in January, has spent most of his career with Las Palmas, but in 2018 he received an offer to play in China that he said he did not regret.

"The best decision of my life was to go to China," Viera said in an interview with La Liga.

"The offer to go to China appeared and there was not much to think about. It was a contract I couldn't turn down. It was a lot of money and it resolved my future.

"I made the decision to go very quickly: when I got the offer, I spoke to my wife and told her that I don't know where other people come from, but I come from a humble family and my mother has had to work a lot. This is a lot of money and it also means the club [Las Palmas] will get a lot of money for the transfer.

"It was the best decision of my life," said Viera, who moved to Beijing Guoan for 11 million euros and helped the club win the Chinese Cup in the 88 games he played, scoring 30 goals.

"Football is about making decisions and this time both parties won," he concluded. Enditem
