HELSINKI -- Several people were injured in a shooting incident at a school in the Finnish city of Vantaa early on Tuesday, Finnish police confirmed.

ISTANBUL -- At least eight people were killed and nine others injured when a fire broke out in a building in Türkiye's largest city Istanbul on Tuesday.

The Istanbul governor's office said in a statement that the fire erupted at an entertainment center in the Gayrettepe neighborhood of the Besiktas district on the European side of the city. (Türkiye-Fire)

NAIROBI -- At least 11 people were killed and over 40 others injured in two separate road accidents in Kenya on Monday evening.

In the first accident, 10 people were killed when two commuter vehicles and a truck were involved in a head-on collision at Salama area, along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, the police said, adding that four passengers were killed on the spot while others succumbed to their injuries in hospital. ABUJA -- At least 13 people were killed when a truck rammed into a commercial bus in Nigeria's north-central state of Kogi recently, the traffic police said.

Two others were injured in the crash late Sunday at a market in the state's Obajana area, said Samuel Oyedeji, the commander for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kogi, in a statement obtained Tuesday morning by Xinhua. (Nigeria-Crash-Casualty) Enditem
