Iran's foreign trade up 2.6 pct in past 12 months

TEHRAN, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Iran's foreign trade stood at 153.17 billion U.S. dollars in the previous Iranian calendar year, indicating a year-on-year growth of 2.6 percent, Shana News Agency affiliated with the country's Oil Ministry reported on Tuesday.

In the past 12 months ending March 19, the country's exports of oil, electricity, technical and engineering services, and luggage trade amounted to 86.89 billion dollars, Shana quoted the head of Iran's Customs Administration, Mohammad Rezvanifar, as saying.

Iran's oil exports reached 35.87 billion dollars, he said, listing the country's three main export items as liquefied natural gas, liquefied propane and tar.

Among Iran's major export destinations, China purchased products worth 13.91 billion dollars, Iraq imported commodities valued at 9.21 billion dollars, and the imports of the United Arab Emirates reached 6.61 billion dollars, according to Rezvanifar.
