MANILA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and two others injured after a tricycle was hit by a bus early Thursday in Pangasinan province in northern Philippines, police said.

Local police said the bus hit the tricycle as the bus tried to enter the highway in Binalonan town.

The victims, including a 66-year-old male, a 23-year-old female, and a 16-year-old male, were declared dead at a local hospital.

Two other tricycle passengers, both teens, were severely injured, police added. People on the bus were unharmed.

Tricycle is a three-wheeled vehicle and a typical means of public and private transport in the Philippines. Enditem
