GAZA -- World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit aid organization, on Thursday called for an independent investigation into the killing of seven members in an Israeli aerial strike in central Gaza.

In a statement on its website, WCK said the aid workers killed on Monday were from Australia, Canada/United States (dual citizen), Gaza, Poland, and Britain. (WCK-Probe-Killing of Employees)

TEHRAN -- A deadly clash erupted in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan late Wednesday night, resulting in the loss of at least 28 lives, reported the official news agency IRNA.

The violence erupted as members of the militant group Jaish al-Zulm launched a coordinated attack on military and police facilities across the region. According to the report, the assault targeted a military post belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in Rask County, along with an IRGC headquarters and a coastguard police station in Chabahar County. ANKARA -- Türkiye is increasingly warning of a large-scale military operation in northern Iraq to wipe out hideouts of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) while, in the meantime, seeking support from Iraq and Iran to achieve the goal.

"We will resolve the problems on our border with Iraq by the summer," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in mid-March, adding his country has effective plans to root out PKK fighters. (Türkiye-Iraq-PKK)

GAZA -- The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced Thursday that the death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks has exceeded 33,000.

The ministry said in a statement that the Israeli army killed 62 Palestinians and wounded 91 others during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 33,037 and injuries to 75,668 since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out on Oct. 7, 2023. (Gaza-Conflict-Death Toll) Enditem
