NEW DELHI -- Police in India's northeastern state of Assam have seized 21 kg of heroin worth over 25 million U.S. dollars, officials said Friday.

The recovery described as the "biggest-ever drug haul" in the state has been made from a vehicle that entered from neighboring Mizoram. (India-Assam-Drugs)

SAN FRANCISCO -- Boeing has paid Alaska Airlines 160 million U.S. dollars in compensation in the first quarter for the grounding of the 737 Max 9, according to the airline.

LA PAZ -- A total of 14 people were killed when a minibus and a tractor-trailer collided head-on Thursday on a highway that links the Bolivian departments of Oruro and Potosi, local authorities said.

"The driver of the tractor-trailer, which was transporting salt from Potosi, presumably fell asleep due to fatigue, losing control of the vehicle," Julio Larrea, Oruro's director of transportation and road safety, told local media. (Bolivia-Road Accident) Enditem
