SEOUL -- South Korea's early voting turnout for parliamentary elections hit a record high of 31.28 percent, the country's election watchdog data showed Saturday.

TOKYO -- In the wake of recent contaminated water leakage at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the plant's operator Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has announced its plan for new installations as a preventive measure, local media reported.

CANBERRA -- The Australian government has announced it will appoint a "special adviser" to scrutinize the investigation into an Israeli airstrike that killed aid workers, including an Australian woman.
