GAZA -- The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced on Saturday that a delegation of its leaders would travel to Egypt on Sunday for talks on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and a hostage-for-prisoner swap deal between the movement and Israel.

"A Hamas leadership delegation, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, will travel to Cairo on Sunday in response to a call from our brothers in Egypt," Hamas said in a statement. Al-Hayya is a member of Hamas' politburo and the movement's deputy chief in Gaza. (Gaza-Peace Talk-Cairo)

DAMASCUS -- Seven children were killed and two others, including a woman, were injured on Saturday in an explosion of an improvised explosive device "planted by terrorists" in the southern Syrian province of Daraa, state news agency SANA reported.

The explosive device went off in the southern neighborhood of the city of Sanamayn in northern Daraa, SANA said, without providing further details. (Syria-Explosions-Casualty)

TEHRAN -- The number of security personnel killed in Wednesday's attacks in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan has reached 15 after five others succumbed to their wounds, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Saturday.

Among the fatalities, 11 were members of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and four were law enforcement officers, Fars added. (Iran-Attacks-Casualties)

KUWAIT CITY -- Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah submitted his cabinet's resignation to Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Saturday, according to the official news agency KUNA.
