AMMAN, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Sunday stressed that Jordan will continue to do everything it can to protect civilians and stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, and ensure the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to all parts of the region.

The minister made the remarks at a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Mustafa, who was in Amman for his first overseas visit since assuming office.

Underlining the unique bond between the kingdom and Palestine, Safadi and Mustafa highlighted the need for continuous coordination and unified action to support the Palestinian people's rights to freedom, statehood, and dignified living.

Safadi noted that the support for the Palestinian cause is entrenched in the kingdom's policy, with King Abdullah II of Jordan dedicating all capabilities to supporting the Palestinian people and fulfilling their full rights.

Safadi stressed that Jordan will continue its ongoing efforts to help end the occupation and establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

Mustafa emphasized that Palestine highly appreciates the historical positions and significant efforts led by the King to support them, emphasizing that Jordan has always been supportive of Palestinian rights.

Mustafa briefed Safadi on the reform agenda of the new Palestinian government.

Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's support for the Palestinian government and all the steps it takes to serve the Palestinian people and their rights. Enditem
