ISTANBUL, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police on Sunday seized 58.2 kg of synthetic drug pills and detained two suspects in the northwestern border province of Edirne, semi-official Anadolu Agency reported.

The anti-narcotics and anti-smuggling teams carried out an operation against two trucks entering Türkiye through the Kapikule border crossing with Bulgaria, Anadolu reported, adding the drugs were found concealed in the towing section of the trucks.

Official procedures for the suspects are currently underway at the police station, it noted, without providing further details.

Turkish security authorities regularly initiate actions against drug traffickers across the country as part of their efforts to combat drug abuse nationwide. Enditem
