SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group said in a statement on Sunday that it had carried out five military operations in the past 72 hours, targeting British and Israeli vessels and U.S. warships.

"The operations were carried out with a number of ballistic and winged missiles, and the operations achieved their goals successfully," Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a statement aired by the group's al-Masirah TV. (Yemen-Houthis-Attacks)

GAZA -- The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced Sunday that the Palestinian death toll has risen to 33,175 as a result of ongoing Israeli attacks.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 38 Palestinians and wounded 71 others, bringing the total death toll to 33,175 and injuries to 75,886 since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out on Oct. 7, 2023, said the ministry in a statement. (Gaza-Israeli Strikes-Death Toll)

DAMASCUS -- Twenty people, including children, were killed on Sunday due to violent clashes between local militants in the southern Syrian province of Daraa, local media reported.

The violence, which occurred in the city of Sanamayn in northern Daraa, was an act of revenge for a deadly explosion a day earlier that killed at least seven children here, the Sham FM radio said, citing local sources. (Syria-Militant Clashes-Fatality)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli troops were withdrawn from southern Gaza in preparation for a possible operation in the city of Rafah, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Sunday.

The forces, who left Gaza on Sunday, are preparing for "follow-up missions," said Gallant during a tour at the Southern Command of Israel Defense Forces (IDF), adding that "we saw examples of such missions in Shifa (Hospital), and will see such missions in the Rafah area."
