JAKARTA, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Twelve people were killed and two others injured in a fatal crash involving three vehicles on a highway in the Indonesian province of West Java on Monday, police said.

According to the preliminary report, the accident occurred on a highway in Karawang regency when a minibus with nine people on board was about to pull over on the road shoulder, but was suddenly hit by a bus behind.

The bus was also hit by another minibus behind, said Wirdhanto Hadicaksono, Karawang police chief, adding that the two minibuses were on fire after the crash.

The 12 deceased have been evacuated to nearby hospitals. Enditem
