GAZA -- The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced Monday that the Palestinian death toll has risen to 33,207 as a result of ongoing Israeli attacks.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 32 Palestinians and wounded 47 others, bringing the total death toll to 33,207 and injuries to 75,933 since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out on Oct. 7, 2023, said the ministry in a statement. (Palestine-Death Toll-Rise)

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa on Monday discussed Cairo's efforts to reach a ceasefire in the war-torn Gaza Strip.

During a meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo, they also reviewed the Egyptian efforts for a prisoner swap, and the delivery of adequate humanitarian aid to the territory to confront the ongoing crisis, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement. (Egypt-Palestinian PM-Truce)

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel has set the date for a ground offensive in Gaza's Rafah.

He did not say when the offensive would take place, but said that "the victory requires entry into Rafah and the elimination of the terrorist battalions there." (Israel-Rafah-Date)

DAMASCUS -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian opened a new consulate building in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Monday, following the destruction of the previous consulate by an Israeli strike last week.

Amir-Abdollahian, alongside Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, attended the inauguration ceremony of the new consulate, situated next to the previous building that was demolished by an Israeli missile attack just days ago. (Iran-Syria-Consulate) Enditem
