MOSCOW, April 9 (Xinhua) -- A Ukrainian drone hit the training center of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on Tuesday, according to the plant's press service.

The drone hit the roof of the training center building, "where the world's only full-scale reactor hall simulator is located," it said, adding that no one was injured as a result of the attack.

The nuclear plant has recorded multiple drone attacks over the past week. No damage was caused to the plant's critical infrastructure, said the press service.

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, it was the first time since November 2022 that the plant was "directly targeted in military action."

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the recent shelling on the plant was "a very dangerous provocation" with negative consequences.

Ukraine previously denied it was behind the recent drone attacks on the plant.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is the largest one in Europe with a total capacity of 6 gigawatts. At the end of February 2022, the facility was taken by the Russians. Enditem
