RIO DE JANEIRO, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's Athletico Paranaense continued their dominant start to the Copa Sudamericana group stage with a 6-0 home win over Venezuelan side Rayo Zuliano on Tuesday.
Former Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho gave the hosts an ideal start when he converted from the penalty spot before Lucas Esquivel, Agustin Canobbio and Pablo Teixeira made it 4-0 at halftime.
Canobbio and Gonzalo Mastriani added further goals after halftime as Paranaense maintained top spot in Group E.
The team from the Southern Brazilian city of Curitiba has six points from two games in South America's premier club competition and a positive goal difference of nine.
