JERUSALEM -- Canadian flag carrier Air Canada has resumed its flights to Israel, the Israel Airports Authority said on Wednesday.

The flights, which were suspended on Oct. 8 last year following the outbreak of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, restarted with an Air Canada plane departing from Toronto Pearson International Airport and landing on Tuesday at Ben Gurion Airport outside Tel Aviv. (Israel-Flights-Resumption)

RABAT -- Moroccan King Mohammed VI has granted clemency to 2,097 prisoners on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, according to a statement from the Moroccan Justice Ministry on Wednesday.

VIENTIANE -- A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant in northern Laos' Xayaboury province, local media reported.

The incident occurred on April 7 when a 49 year-old-man left his home in the morning to feed pigs at his farm in Napho village in Paklai district of Xayaboury province, some 170 km northwest of Lao capital Vientiane, local news website Lao Pattana News reported on Wednesday. (Laos-Death)

HANOI -- Vietnam has reported 10,196 hand-foot-mouth disease cases since early this year, an increase of 2.3 times compared to the same period last year, according to the General Department of Preventive Medicine under the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.
