SUVA, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The Fiji Airways is expanding its aviation academy to address the increasing demand for pilot and cabin crew training from international airlines.

The expansion will include two more simulators, a three-story safety and service training building for the cabin crew and an apartment-style accommodation block, which will have a restaurant, gymnasium and a swimming poll, according to Fiji Broadcasting Corporation on Thursday.

Fiji Airways managing director and CEO Andre Viljoen said this will attract more international airlines to use the academy.

"We started with none, and today we have five international airlines that regularly use our facilities to train and develop their pilots, " Viljoen said.

The expansion project will be completed in 2026.

Fiji Airways Aviation Academy is a fully-integrated training center providing world-class training to Fiji Airways flight and cabin crew. This facility is now also available to passenger airlines and other aircraft operators globally. Enditem
