GENEVA, April 11 (Xinhua) -- The champions of the EuroLeague Women basketball competition will receive digital medals besides their physical ones for the recognition on digital platforms, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced on Thursday.

The Final Four in Mersin, Türkiye is to be held on April 12-14.

FIBA said the digital medals cannot replace the physical ones, but will be a good sign to the new generations who spend a lot of time on social media platforms.

"Digital medals are another way to celebrate these athletes and provide them with the digital and social media tools to tell their own authentic story," said John Tweardy, Managing Partner of Deloitte Sports.

Cukurova Basketbol Mersin, Fenerbahce Alagoz Holding, Villeneuve d'Ascq and ZVVZ USK Praha will compete at the Final Four in Mersin. Enditem
