ABIDJAN, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara said Thursday that Cote d'Ivoire is committed to strengthening economic relations with Gabon.

"We are committed to further intensifying our economic and commercial exchanges, particularly in the agricultural, mining and energy sectors," Ouattara said during his meeting with Gabon's visiting transitional President General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.

Cote d'Ivoire and Gabon have maintained excellent and fraternal cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1966, Ouattara added.

Nguema welcomed the support of Cote d'Ivoire for Gabon's transition process, and expressed his willingness to step up south-south cooperation through the opening of the Gabonese market to Ivorian companies, "whose expertise in various fields is proven." Enditem
