PARIS, April 13 (Xinhua) -- The three-day Paris Book Festival 2024 opened Friday with 1,150 Chinese books on display and sale and more than 40 percent of them in French version.
Up to 59 Chinese publishers from Beijing, Shanghai, Hebei, Zhejiang and other places are present in the festival, exhibiting and selling books on such subjects as literature, traditional Chinese culture, and children's books.
At the festival, Chinese publishers focus on the exhibition and sale of the first two volumes of "Selected Readings from the Works of Xi Jinping," multilingual edition of four volumes of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China," and Xi's other related works.
During the festival, Chinese and French publishers will also team up to organize a number of activities. Eight well-known Chinese writers, including Qiao Ye and Shi Yifeng, are present to communicate with French writers.
The Paris Book Festival was founded in 1981 and hosted by the French Publishers Association. As one of Europe's large annual public cultural events, the festival attracted more than 100,000 visitors in 2023. Enditem
