MEXICO CITY, April 12 (Xinhua) -- Mexico international winger Uriel Antuna scored a late penalty as Cruz Azul climbed to third in Mexico's Liga MX standings on Friday with a 1-0 victory at Puebla.
The visitors dominated possession and had almost twice as many shots on goal than their opponents but were unable to transfer their dominance to the scoresheet.
That changed in the 92nd minute when referee Katia Garcia pointed to the spot after Sebastian Olmedo brought down Fernando Navarro.
Antuna converted the resultant spot-kick as Cruz Azul moved to third in the 18-team standings with 29 points, behind Toluca and Club America on goal difference. Puebla are last with just five points so far.
In other Liga MX fixtures on Friday, Mazatlan won 2-0 at Queretaro and Necaxa secured a 2-0 home win over Santos Laguna. Enditem
