Fijian PM sends condolences to Australia over Sydney mall attack

SUVA, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has sent a message of condolence to his Australian counterpart over a mass stabbing attack at a Sydney shopping center.

Rabuka has expressed his deep sympathy, emphasizing the solidarity and support of the government during this challenging time, reported Fiji Broadcasting Corporation on Monday.

He said Fiji stands with Australia during this time and offers support to the people of Australia.

The prime minister also confirmed that no Fijian was injured during the incident.

Six people including five women were killed in the knife attack at Westfield Shopping Center at Bondi Junction of Sydney Saturday afternoon. Another 12 people were injured in the attack, with five remaining in intensive care. Enditem
