ISLAMABAD -- At least two people were killed and over 50 others injured in a road accident in Chakwal district of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, highway police said on Monday.

SINGAPORE -- Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said he will relinquish the office on May 15, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Monday.

KABUL -- At least 50 people were killed and 185 others injured in road accidents during the four-day Eid al-Fitr holiday beginning on April 10 across Afghanistan, the country's General Directorate of Traffic Police said Monday.

CHICAGO -- A nine-year-old girl was killed and 10 other people, including three children, were injured in a shooting on the South Side of Chicago Saturday night, local media reported.

The shooting happened around 9:20 p.m. local time (0220 GMT). A nine-year-old girl was shot in the head and died; a one-year-old boy and an eight-year-old boy were each shot multiple times and left in critical condition; another nine-year-old boy suffered a graze wound and was in good condition, local police said. CANBERRA -- The Chinese student who was injured in the recent stabbing at a shopping center in Sydney on Saturday has received medical treatment and is not in a life-threatening condition, the Chinese Embassy in Australia and the Chinese Consulate-General in Sydney said Monday.
