BERLIN, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich's second leg against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League comes near a do-or-die issue for the Bavarians for several reasons.

After having delivered a poor league and German Cup season, the struggling 2020 treble winners are desperately seeking positive results such as proceeding to the Champions League semifinals.

While the search for a successor for departing coach Thomas Tuchel is ongoing, the current coach must deal with several losses such as injured Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry aside from the banned Alphonso Davies. Keeper Manuel Neuer and winger Leroy Sane are in shape in time.

Latest reports from the TV station Sky speak of the club's efforts to possibly sign their former coach and current German national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Others mention Bayern having contacted the management of French icon and former Real and Juve coach Zinedine Zidane.

Following the determined performance in London last week leading to a 2-2 draw, "there will be a winner this time and the winner gets to the next round," as star striker Thomas Muller described the situation.

As much as statistics speak for Bayern, the outcome of Wednesday's duel is a nail-biter.

Two times after a 2-2 away draw Bayern proceeded to the next round and only once have they failed. In 25 cases after an away draw in the Champions League, the Bavarians turned things in their favor in the second leg 22 times.

Bayern icon Muller called Arsenal a good team, but not as experienced when it comes to the Champions League compared to teams such as Real Madrid or Manchester City.

"We are ready to catch that magic moment we can have in our arena, the Allianz Arena moment," the 34-year-old said and mentioned the fans' support in the recent league encounter against Cologne.

"We heard the chants and we saw the glowing in their eyes. This game on Wednesday means a lot to our fans; so, it does to us," the German international said.

Despite the latest disappointments, "it's on us to concentrate on that game and achieve the best. We know we can, we have done that in Arsenal, now it's only one game to kick the can down the road," added the forward, who promised "some crackling moments."

Star striker and England captain Harry Kane mentioned the Bayern players' experience and said the team proved its resilience in many tight games.

"To see the chance to get to the last four and then the final gives you a lot of motivation," the 30-year-old stated. "It's on us to take it, I am ready."

From the perspective of German record international Lothar Matthaeus: "It takes the entire team effort to accomplish the mission. I can repeat the performance from last week, I see them as one candidate to get as far as the final." Enditem
