BEIRUT, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah claimed in a statement on Wednesday that it launched an attack with guided missiles and drones on the headquarters of an Israeli military reconnaissance center in the village of Arab al-Aramshe in western Galilee, north of Israel.

The Lebanese armed group said the attack, in response to the Israeli killing of its members and commanders, has inflicted casualties among crew members of the center.

Meanwhile, Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service reported 13 injuries, four of them severe, due to the Hezbollah attack, updating its previous report of six injuries.

In response, the Israeli army launched an air raid on the origin of the launches and hit a military building belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces.

Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border escalated on Oct. 8, 2023, following a barrage of rockets launched by Hezbollah toward Israel in solidarity with Hamas' attack on Israel the day before. Israel then retaliated by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon. Enditem
