KHARTOUM -- A total of 391 people have died due to cholera and dengue fever during a year of war in Sudan, the Sudanese Health Ministry announced on Thursday.

"Nearly 11,000 cholera cases have been recorded, including 325 deaths in 12 states, while dengue fever cases reached 9,000, including 66 deaths," Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, Sudanese Minister of Health, said in a press release. (Sudan-Cholera-Dengue)

TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Thursday rejected anti-Tehran claims by finance ministers from the Group of Seven (G7), according to a statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

G7 finance ministers and central bank governors on Wednesday issued a joint statement condemning Iran's retaliatory military operation late last week on Israel, saying they would step up sanctions against Tehran and "ensure close coordination of any future measure to diminish Iran's ability to acquire, produce, or transfer weapons to support destabilizing regional activities." ANKARA -- A magnitude-5.6 earthquake rocked the northern Turkish province of Tokat on Thursday, according to the country's disaster management authority AFAD.

The earthquake struck at 6:11 p.m. local time (1511 GMT), with its epicenter located in the town of Sulusaray in Tokat province, approximately 450 kilometers east of the capital Ankara, according to AFAD.

There were no immediate reports of casualties. (Türkiye-Earthquake)

GAZA -- The Israeli army mobilized military reinforcements, including artillery and armored personnel carriers, around Gaza in preparation for a possible ground attack on the southernmost Gazan city of Rafah, local media reported Thursday.

Dotan, commander of Battalion 932 in the Israeli army, told soldiers at the end of the military operation in the Nuseirat refugee camp that they would be advancing towards Rafah, the Hebrew public radio reported. (Israel-Attack-Rafah) Enditem
