BUENOS AIRES, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Former Monaco and Southampton forward Guido Carrillo scored twice as Estudiantes advanced to Argentina's Primera Division semifinals with a 3-0 home win over Barracas Central on Saturday.

Carrillo struck either side of halftime for the host before Marcelo Correa completed the rout four minutes from time.

The result means Estudiantes will play the winner of Sunday's quarterfinal between traditional rivals River Plate and Boca Juniors in the semifinals.

"I have no preference about who we play," Estudiantes manager Eduardo Dominguez told reporters.

"Both teams have great scorers, great midfield players, great defenders and they have a history behind them. But we also have history and deserve to be here. We believe and trust that we have what it takes to [reach the final]."

Meanwhile, Argentinos Juniors and Velez Sarsfield also advanced to the last four by winning their respective quarterfinals on Saturday.

Argentinos Juniors edged past Defensa y Justicia 3-2 on penalties after the scores were locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Velez Sarsfield recovered from a goal down to win 2-1 at Godoy Cruz despite playing most of the second half with only 10 men following Elias Gomez's red card. Enditem
