PORT MORESBY -- China will become the most trustworthy partner for Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the latter's development process, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here on Sunday.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with PNG Prime Minister James Marape. (PNG-China-FM)

JAKARTA -- Five people were killed and 15 others were injured in a train-bus accident on Sunday in Indonesia, an official said.

The accident occurred at a crossing in East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra province at around 13:10 p.m. (GMT 0610) local time, according to Azhar Zaki Assjari, public relations manager of PT KAI Divre IV Tanjung Karang. (Indonesia-Accident)

COLOMBO -- Voting in the Maldives' parliamentary election ended at 5:30 p.m. local time (1230 GMT) on Sunday. Poll workers started counting votes 30 minutes after the ballot boxes were closed.

According to information released by the Elections Commission, over 207,000 people cast their ballots by 5:00 p.m., making for a voter turnout of more than 72 percent. (Maldives-Parliamentary-Election)

COLOMBO -- Seven people died and 20 others were injured on Sunday when a racing car veered off the track and rammed into a crowd at an event in Diyatalawa town in central Sri Lanka, the police said.
