MANILA, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The Philippine government's budget deficit narrowed to 195.9 billion pesos (3.4 billion U.S. dollars) in March from last year's 210.3 billion pesos (3.66 billion dollars), the country's Bureau of the Treasury said Wednesday.

"This led to a cumulative budget gap of 272.6 billion pesos (4.74 billion dollars) for the first quarter of 2024 period, marking a slight increase of 0.65 percent from the fiscal deficit recorded for the same period a year ago," the bureau said. Enditem
