DAR ES SALAAM, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC) said on Thursday a Zanzibar-registered cargo ship and its five Tanzanian crew members that went missing in the Indian Ocean on April 19 was yet to be found.

"The search for the vessel and its crew members is still ongoing," Mariam Mwayela, TASAC communications officer, told Xinhua by phone.

The ship went missing as weather authorities issued high alerts over strong winds of more than 40 kilometers per hour and large ocean waves of two meters high.

On Wednesday, TASAC said in a statement that the ship ferrying 65 tonnes of timber with five Tanzanian sailors went missing on April 19 after it had left Kilwa Kivinje port at 7 a.m. local time and was scheduled to arrive in Malindi port in Zanzibar at 8 a.m. local time the following day. Enditem
