GUAYAQUIL, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Jonathan Calleri and Alisson Castro scored in each half as Sao Paulo edged closer toward a berth in the Copa Libertadores knockout stage with a 2-0 win at Barcelona SC on Thursday.

Argentine striker Calleri gave the Brazilian side the lead at the Monumental Stadium by heading into the top-right corner after Aldemir Ferreira's cross

Calleri doubled the advantage just after the hour with a low finish that left the Ecuadorian team's goalkeeper, Javier Burrai, with no chance.

"It was one of the games in which everything seemed to click," Calleri said after the match.

"We worked hard in training during the week and I think that showed tonight. We were able to score early and then control the game thereafter."

Sao Paulo remains second in Group B with six points from three games so far, a point behind leaders Talleres Cordoba. Barcelona SC is third, four points further back.

In other Copa Libertadores fixtures on Thursday, reigning champions Fluminense drew 0-0 at Cerro Porteno, Talleres Cordoba prevailed 2-0 at Cobresal and Palestino eased to a 3-1 home win over Millonarios. Enditem
