VIENTIANE, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Lao government officials gathered in Lao capital Vientiane on Thursday and Friday to review the content of a draft law on investment promotion.

The meeting was chaired by vice president of the Lao National Assembly Sommad Pholsena and attended by representatives from various ministries, audit and legal committees, and the private sector, Lao News Agency reported.

Speaking at the meeting, Lao Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Sthabandith Insisiengmay highlighted the significance of the proposal to revise the Law on Investment Promotion, with a focus on the current state of its implementation, and reasons and the need for revising it.

The meeting is expected to ensure that the contents of the law are correctly completed and in line with the constitution, other promulgated laws, conventions, and related international agreements, according to the media report. Enditem
