Singapore police arrests 309 for scam offenses

SINGAPORE, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean police arrested 309 suspects aged between 16 and 75 for scam offenses during operations from April 12 to 25, according to the latest statement from police.

The suspects were involved in over 1,600 scam cases, including investment scams, Internet love scams, job scams, friend impersonation scams, and e-commerce scams.

Police said the victims incurred a loss of over 9 million Singapore dollars (6.6 million U.S. dollars) in total.

The suspects were under investigation for cheating, money laundering, or providing payment services without a license. Enditem
