MIES, Switzerland, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The Central Board of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has received reports on the preparations for the Paris Olympic Games, and everything is on the way to a successful basketball competition at the Games, the world basketball governing body announced here on Friday.

The Central Board meeting was held at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball, FIBA's headquarters, on Thursday, and reports of the men's and women's basketball competitions, Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, and 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament were presented.

Preparations of Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments and next year's Continental Cups continue, and the draw of the Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Pre-Qualifying Tournaments was held on Thursday here.

The Central Board gave the green light for modifications to be made to the Official Basketball Rules, effective as of October 1, 2024, including errors correction and withdraw of head coach's challenge.

It also extended the current status of the two National Federations of Russia and Belarus until the next Central Board meeting in December 2024. Enditem
