KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian airline operator Capital A said Monday that its passenger volume grew 17 percent year on year to 15.4 million in the first quarter of this year, outpacing capacity growth of 15 percent year on year, demonstrating continued strong travel demand across the region.

Capital A said in a statement that the growth was largely attributed to school holidays and Chinese New Year season in the first quarter.

Additionally, the resurgence of China and India routes both delivered a robust load factor of 94 percent, higher than the pre-COVID level due to the visa-free travel corridors of both regions introduced at the end of 2023.

As of the end of March, the airline group deployed 167 operational aircraft.

The firm also recorded a quarterly load factor of 90 percent, reflecting a 1 percent improvement year on year. This robust performance aligns with its strategic focus on expanding capacity and rebuilding its network. Enditem
