JERUSALEM -- Two Israeli reserve soldiers were killed in a clash with Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday.

Kalkidan Mehar, 37, and Ido Aviv, 28, were killed "in a battle" in the central Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said. (Israel-Soldiers-Deaths)

GAZA -- The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 34,488, said the Hamas-run Health Ministry on Monday.

ADEN, Yemen -- Yemen's Houthi group on Monday carried out a missile attack targeting a Maltese-flagged cargo ship sailing in the Red Sea off the coast of Mokha, western Yemen, a government coast guard official told Xinhua.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the bulk carrier came under missile bombardment from Houthi forces while navigating approximately 54 nautical miles northwest of Mokha's coast. (Yemen-Houthis-Attacks)

ADEN, Yemen -- At least six soldiers from Yemen's internationally recognized government were killed and a dozen others injured in a roadside bomb explosion on Monday in the southern province of Abyan, a military official said.
