Pakistan's headline inflation drops to 22-month low at 17.3 pct in April 2024

ISLAMABAD, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's headline inflation dropped to the 22-month lowest to 17.3 percent in April 2024 on a year-on-year basis, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Thursday.

The inflation was recorded at 20.7 percent in March 2024 and 36.4 percent in April 2023, said the PBS, adding that it was the lowest reading in May 2022.

Pakistan has been tormented by inflation above 20 percent since May 2022, while it was measured at the highest of the period 38 percent in May 2023. Enditem
