CHARIKAR, Afghanistan, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Development projects worth more than 1.4 million U.S. dollars will be launched in Afghanistan's eastern Parwan province next year, state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Friday.
The projects are on canals, reservoirs, dams and other infrastructure facilities in several districts of Parwan province, whose capital city is about 55 km north of the national capital Kabul, the report said.
The Afghan caretaker government has launched a series of infrastructure projects including building water canals, highways, and solar power systems across the war-ravaged country to create job opportunities and alleviate poverty. Enditem
