KABUL, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Nine major projects have been initiated in various sectors across war-torn Afghanistan from March 21 to April 20, the state-owned Bakhtar News Agency reported Saturday.

These projects, with a total investment of 16.6 billion afghanis (about 230 million U.S. dollars), span the infrastructure, energy, and industrial sectors, Bakhtar said.

The media organization added that implementing these projects is expected to create jobs for thousands of people, addressing unemployment and poverty challenges in the region.

The Afghan caretaker government has launched a series of infrastructure projects, including building water canals, highways, and solar power systems across Afghanistan, to create job opportunities and alleviate poverty. Enditem
