Large quantities of drugs seized in eastern Myanmar

YANGON, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized large quantities of drugs in the eastern state of Shan and three suspects were arrested, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police conducted a raid on a suspect's home in Lashio Township, Shan State on Saturday, and discovered 30,000 stimulant tablets, 396 grams of heroin and cash.

During the same operation, police searched the second suspect's home in Lashio and found 7.1 kg of Happy Water, 4.32 kg of Ketamine, and a few other narcotics, the CCDAC said.

Additionally, over 1 kg of heroin, 6,000 stimulant tablets and cash were confiscated from the third suspect's place in Lashio on that day, the CCDAC added.

The arrested were charged under the Southeast Asian country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. Enditem
