YANGON, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar aims to export 350,000 tons of rubber in the current 2024-25 fiscal year starting April, an official from the Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association said on Monday.

The majority of rubber exports from Myanmar are destined for China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, and India, he told Xinhua.

Most of Myanmar's rubber trees grow in Mon State, followed by Tanintharyi Region, Kayin State, Bago Region, Yangon Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Shan State and Kachin State, Sagaing Region and Rakhine State, he added.

According to the association, efforts are being made to enhance rubber quality and establish manufacturing facilities with support from the international investment.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, Myanmar exported nearly 200,000 tons of rubber, the association official said. Enditem
