COLOMBO, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry on Wednesday announced that the government expects to finalize the foreign debt restructuring process by June.

Addressing a press briefing held at the Presidential Media Center, he said successful debt restructuring could lead to a reduction of approximately 17 billion U.S. dollars of Sri Lanka's debt burden.

The minister said that they have already completed domestic debt restructuring and that negotiations with private investors linked to sovereign bonds will be finished by June 2024. Enditem
