BUENOS AIRES, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Edinson Cavani struck in the 92nd minute as Boca Juniors recovered from a goal down to secure a 2-1 away win over Trinidense in their Copa Sudamericana Group D match on Wednesday.

Brian Andrada gave the Paraguayan side the lead on the stroke of halftime when he fired a left-footed effort into the top-left corner after Fernando Romero's headed pass.

The visitors equalized through Nicolas Figal, who latched onto Lautaro Blanco's corner with a glancing header beyond the reach of goalkeeper Wilson Quinonez.

Cavani continued his prolific scoring form by curling a 25-yard free kick into the top-left corner in stoppage time.

The hosts were forced to play almost the entire second with only 10 men after Brian Andrada was booked for a second rash challenge in the space of five minutes.

The result leaves Boca Juniors second in their group with seven points from four outings while Trinidense are fourth, four points further back.

"We struggled to move the ball around because the pitch was in a poor state," Cavani told reporters after the match. "But we insisted through hard work and showed character by not losing our identity.

Uruguay international striker Cavani has now scored 12 times since joining Boca on a free transfer last July.

In other Copa Sudamericana fixtures on Wednesday, Cuiaba won 3-0 at home to Metropolitanos, Nacional Potosi cruised to a 4-1 home victory at Fortaleza and Athletico Paranaense eased to a 5-1 defeat of Rayo Zuliano. Enditem
