KABUL, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Afghan authorities have opened three water supply networks in east Afghanistan's Kunar province, state news agency Bakhtar reported Friday.

The networks, which cost 168,000 U.S. dollars, could provide clean water to 950 families in the Shaygal district, the report said, adding that the provincial government will continue to provide potable water for the people across the province.

Similarly, the constriction work of two more water supply projects have been completed in Kunar's neighboring Nangarhar province to benefit 750 families, the media outlet added.

Afghanistan has been suffering from drought for years, as many cities and provinces, including the national capital of Kabul have been facing extreme potable water shortages. Enditem
