COLOMBO, May 10 (Xinhua) -- One died and four others were injured in an accident involving a passenger bus belonging to the state-run service and a three-wheeler on Friday in the area called Puwagodamulla in central Sri Lanka, the local police said.

The police said the deceased and the injured were the driver of the three-wheeler and its passengers. Among the injured is a woman, the police said. The injured were rushed to a local hospital.

Accidents involving motor vehicles are common in Sri Lanka. There were 2,557 deaths resulting from 2,200 fatal traffic accidents in Sri Lanka in 2023. Enditem
