TULCEA, Romania -- Chinese and Romanian institutes signed a cooperation memorandum here on Tuesday to enhance collaboration in biodiversity conservation, wetland restoration and ecological protection.

The Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology (IGA) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Romania's Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development (DDNI) inked the document at the opening ceremony of the 31st International Symposium "Deltas and Wetlands" 2024. LOS ANGELES -- NASA and Boeing are now targeting no earlier than Tuesday, May 21, for launch of the first crewed mission of the Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS), the agency said on Tuesday.

The spacecraft was previously scheduled to launch on a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket on May 6 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in the U.S. state of Florida. (US-NASA-Boeing-Starliner)

LA PAZ -- At least four people were killed and six others were seriously injured on Tuesday when a minibus fell into a ravine in western Bolivia, police said.

The minibus was carrying about 14 people when the accident occurred on the La Paz-La Asunta highway, Miguel Hidalgo, commander of the La Paz Rural and Border Police, told reporters. (Bolivia-Accident)

WARSAW -- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday that "Poland will not accept any migrants" under the newly adopted European Union's (EU) pact on migration and asylum.

Tusk told a press conference after a meeting of the Council of Ministers that his government voted against the pact. He said the pact "adopted in this form, as today, gives Poland the opportunity to avoid any negative consequences. Poland will become a beneficiary of the pact." (Poland-EU-migration)

LIMA -- At least 13 people were killed and 14 others were injured when a passenger bus plunged into a ravine about 50 meters deep in southern Peru on Tuesday, local authorities said.

The bus crashed around 6:30 a.m. local time on the Libertadores highway as it was traveling from Lima to the city of Ayacucho, said the Regional Health Directorate's Center for Prevention and Control of Emergencies and Disasters in the southern department of Ayacucho. (Peru-Accident) Enditem
