JERUSALEM -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have killed more than 130 militants in targeted operations in eastern Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, according to a statement issued on Saturday.

As part of the operations, the Givati infantry brigade killed more than 80 militants in the area, and located dozens of rifles, grenades, and ammunition, according to the IDF statement. (Israel-Rafah-Operation)

CAPE TOWN -- South African sea rescue organizations announced on Saturday that search and rescue efforts are continuing for 11 fishermen who went missing after their fishing trawler sank off the coast of Cape Town.

The fishing vessel sank about 30 nautical miles off Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard on Friday afternoon, according to a statement issued by the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), a member of South African Search and Rescue. (South Africa-Cape Town-Rescue)

KHARTOUM -- At least eight civilians were killed in an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a village in Gezira State in central Sudan, a resistance committee announced on Saturday.

"The RSF attacked Wad Al-Munir village of Al-Hosh locality in Gezira State with the aim to loot," the resistance committee in Wad Madani, the capital city of the Gezira state, said in a statement on its Facebook page. (Sudan-Paramilitary Force Attack-Casualty)

HELSINKI -- By Saturday afternoon, Finnish rescue services had responded to a total of 21 wildfire incidents across the country, highlighting the widespread impact of the recent dry conditions.
