UNITED NATIONS -- UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland on Monday called for the resumption of negotiations between Israel and Hamas.

"I urge the parties to redouble all efforts and return to the negotiating table immediately and in good faith," Wennesland told the UN Security Council. (UN-Gaza-Talks)

ST. PETERSBURG -- Russia has decided to suspend the ban on gasoline exports introduced earlier this year, the government said in a statement on Monday night.

According to the statement, the Russian government has temporarily allowed fuel producers to export gasoline until June 30, and the ban will remain in place for the period from July 1 to Aug. 31. (Russia-Gasoline-Exports)

PRAGUE -- The Czech Republic has recorded nearly 15,000 cases of whooping cough, or pertussis, and six infected people have died since the beginning of this year, according to the State Health Institute (SZU).

In its epidemiological situation report published on Monday, the SZU said the central European country has reported rising cases of whooping cough, a highly contagious respiratory disease, since the start of the year, with weekly cases surpassing 1,000 for nine consecutive weeks since March 18. ATHENS -- Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis on Monday urged the international community to promote the two-state solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

During his meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry in Athens, Gerapetritis urged for enhanced joint efforts to halt the hostilities, release hostages and secure flow of humanitarian aid without hinderance to the Gaza people in need, Greek national news agency AMNA reported. TRIPOLI -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Monday said that 409 migrants were rescued off the coast of Libya in the past week.
