KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's security forces have seized 135 kg of illicit drugs in southern Kandahar province, provincial police spokesman Mullah Asadullah Jamshidi said on Wednesday.
The contraband was confiscated during a counter-narcotic operation conducted in the vicinity of Maiwand district along the highway linking Kandahar with the western Herat province, Jamshidi added.
Two people including the driver of the truck were arrested in connection with the case and their dossiers were referred to the judiciary for further investigation and possible legal process, Jamshidi said. Enditem
